Day at the Zoo

The Hoggle Zoo hosted their annual free zoo day! So when I received a text from Rachel I was completely on board to head over there. It is so unusual for the weather to be this nice in Utah, considering we are in the middle of Winter! It was sunny and around 58 degrees. The day was perfect. I called Jason to tell him we were going and he so willingly decided to join us.

I met with Rachel, Lauren and all the kids. We had so much fun looking at the animals and people watching. People are so funny and I apologize for the judgy thoughts I might have had while walking around. The zoo was packed and although we couldn't see some of the animals we were able to see the tiger pretty close. He gave us a show by roaring while we were there! Cute Lexy was holding on tight to Uncle Jason because it was a scary.

Zoey slept most of the time, towards the end she woke up for a good hour but had no interest in the animals. I can't wait to take her back this summer when she is a little bit more aware of what is going on. After the zoo we headed over to Salt City Burger and enjoyed a big meal! I love that we have such great family living around here in Utah. It makes things a lot more fun.

Here is Zoey hanging out in her stroller, I wish they had an adult version of a stroller!

I wish I would have recorded the tiger and Lexy's reaction. At first I thought someone was making noises to see if the tiger would come down, I didn't know it was the actual tiger roaring at us.

Zoey and mom, jeez I love this little girl so much!

Daddy's girl...

Boston and Zoey. I am so glad she has two cousins that are only a few months older than her!

Valentine's Day

Every Holiday is starting to be a little bit more fun now that we have a baby. Even though Zoey is not aware of what is going on Jason and I enjoy coming up with new traditions for our new family. You guys probably know that Valentine's is not exactly our favorite holiday. We just don't really care for it. Once again we ordered take out from the Olive Garden.

I set up the table with candles and also left kisses in the shape of a heart on our bed. I figured Jason would enjoy eating all of his caramel kisses. We enjoyed a quiet dinner since the little one was sleeping. We had some candy and watched a movie. Like I said nothing big. Jason surprised us girl with beautiful lilies, my favorite!

While we were having dinner we decided to make sure we make a big deal of holidays when our kids grow up. I remember being so excited about Valentines, I think it was the candy that made me love the holiday when I was growing up. So I figured that from now we will try our best to make our kids childhood memorable and fun!
